DIPG Atlas project with TGen

If it seems like we have several fundraisers going on right now, it’s because we do.  If you’ve been keeping up with our story, you know we have developed a partnership with Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen).  Last month the Hope Through Hollis Fund donated $30,000 to TGen enabling a team led by TGen Deputy Director Dr. Michael Berens to conduct a full genomic study of the DIPG tumor that took the life of Hollis. You can read the press release for more details about this. The community was so generous during this journey and continued to donate even after his death, so we knew the remaining funds had to be used for something new to find a cure for DIPG.   In the memory of Hollis, we hope to make a difference in DIPG  and “move the needle” with a collaborative strategy and multi phase plan TGen has called DIPG Atlas.

In a planned second phase, Dr. Berens will invite the nation’s leading researchers in DIPG to participate in a “shared win” strategy toward “moving the needle” in developing fast, proof-of-performance advances in DIPG treatments. This is a new and bold approach that will be led by a stellar team of clinicians and scientists with a renewed commitment to do better, to push harder for our children. This is a high-stakes, high-reward proposition, but we already know what the alternative is… The initial Research and Development of this phase will require $200,000, which we committed to helping them raise.  We are hoping our 3 upcoming fundraisers will generate these much needed funds and this is where we need your help!  Please come out to join us for one or all of these fun events!
